Otmar Suitner, who was General Music Director of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and the Staatskapelle Berlin for more than a quarter of a century, died 15 years ago in January 2010. The Trio Apollon's chamber concert is dedicated to him, and a sculpture by the Austrian sculptor Prof. Hans Pontiller will be presented in his honour on this evening, which will be placed in the Unter den Linden opera house in the future.
The musical programme includes works by key composers of the classical-romantic period that were of particular importance to Otmar Suitner.
