Accessibility
We are committed to making your visit to the Staatsoper Unter den Linden as enjoyable as possible. If you have any accessibility requirements, we will try to assist you in every possible way.
TICKET PURCHASES / DISCOUNTS
On presentation of a severely handicapped ID with the letter “B”, visitors will receive a free ticket for an accompanying person in all price categories. Tickets can be booked by phone (+49 (0)30 20 35 45 55), e-mail or in person at the TicketBox next to the Staatsoper Unter den Linden. Please note that wheelchair spaces cannot be booked online. This is to prevent people who are not dependent on these places from buying them in advance, thus preventing wheelchair users from attending a performance.
DIRECTIONS / PARKING
The Staatsoper Unter den Linden has completely barrier-free access due to its excellent public transport connections (see HOW TO GET THERE). The underground car park on Bebelplatz offers disabled parking spaces and direct access to the opera house. On entering the car park between 18:00 and 23:59, the maximum parking fee is €6. To use this tariff, enter your parking ticket in one of the pay machines and the message »Theatertarif« will appear on the display. Press the button below and the reduced rate of €6 will be shown on the display. Please note that it is not possible to use the tariff if you enter the car park before 6p.m. so it will not be shown on the display. TIP: If you pay the theatre tariff at the pay machine before the event, you can avoid unnecessary waiting after the show.
ENTRANCE
Wheelchair access can be gained at the main entrance to the Staatsoper Unter den Linden or via the underground car park, which takes visitors directly up to the opera house.
ELEVATOR
The Staatsoper is equipped with an elevator which stops on all levels from the basement to the third circle.
ACCESSIBLE TOILETS
Wheelchair accessible ladies’ and men’s toilets are located on the ground floor and on the second floor, all of which can be reached by lift.
WHEELCHAIR SPACES
In the stalls and all the circles there are spaces for wheelchair users available in various price categories for opera and ballet performances as well as concerts. The wheelchair spaces in Circles I-III can be reached via a lift.
We would like to point out that the stalls are set on an incline to optimise viewing, so the floor slopes slightly for the wheelchair seats on the left and right in row 10. If you would prefer to be on level ground, we recommend the wheelchair places in the circles.
ASSISTED HEARING FACILITY
For the hard of hearing, there is an induction loop for all seats.
